Storing a global variable to use across multiple forms

Is there any way to store a global variable that can be used across multiple forms? For example, when one form is saved, we can store some data in Global var.; we want this data to be available for use in the other form.
Have a look at profile documents -– there is excellent information available in the designer help, @SetProfileField and @GetProfileField. There are also LotusScript equivalents.
