Uploading multiple files via Web

How can I set up a form to allow the uploading of multiple file attachments via the web. The standard file upload control only allows for one file. I appreciate I could include several file upload controls but this looks crappy.
This is a report of a way of doing this on Iris Sandbox (download the file from http://www.notes.net/sandbox.nsf/187c76bdb38114ff852567540065daa7/5ee81fab8198d4e48525690600518f25?OpenDocument
However, this appears to work only when the files and the HTTP, Domino server and the user are accessing the same machine -- something you don't run into in the real world.
