I have a Web agent that seems to run when access is set to Editor but not to Author. The agent updates a counter in a document. Also none of the Web query events execute the agent ToolsRunMacro command.
I read two of your articles and spent nine hours trying to puzzle this one out. Any help is appreciated.
The problem with the counter that doesn't update sounds like an Authornames problem. If the ACL of a database gives you Author access, you need to be mentioned in an Author Names field on a document in order to be able to update that document. The document that is to be updated (containing the counter) does not contain a field of the type Author Names, which holds the Web user's name (or a role or directory group that holds the user as a member).
The Web Query events get fired when you open or close a document, but the agents might not run. Again, that is most likely a security issue in your application.
