What to do when the ACL gets corrupt

What do I do when the ACL gets corrupt in an application? My users cannot open the database link I sent. I gave "Editor" as the default access, but still they get a "not authorised" message. Please help, I have to get this survey going.
If you can still access the application then the ACL isn't necessarily corrupt. Can you still access the Database by following your own link? If you can, then check the database properties to ensure that the application is on the right server. You may be sending them a link to a DB that is on another server (or even your local workstation) and does not have the correct ACL settings.

If you can access the DB, it's on the right server and the users cannot access it - then your ACL settings are wrong. The ACL in that case is not corrupt.
