We have a Notes Domino server. We have been experiencing intermittent e-mail problems. People that were able to get through to our mail can no longer get through. We receive from some domains like AOL and Yahoo, but not from others like Hotmail and many private companies. We were getting e-mail from these sources before. I am stumped. I have consulted two Lotus notes experts and they have not been able to get to the root of the problem. I have also checked with our Internet provider and they claim no responsibility.
We did put some anti-spam messaging in the server -- could this somehow be related? If that is not the problem, what could be the cause?
I would start with your spam software. It should have some sort of log and quarantine area for you to peruse. Hopefully the dead messages are there. If there is nothing there, you need to check your SMTP server to see if it is accepting connections or if it is rejecting them. You will also need to check and see if your domain has been blacklisted for some reason.
