Writing new records from Domino to a DB2 file

I'm using Domino Designer 6.5. I am trying to write new records from my Domino Application to a DB2 file. DECS is running. I have set up the DCR and added fields to a new form. In another form I want to have an action that will write these new DB2 records, since this is where I will have the data available for these records. What code do I need to write these records? Do I need to do anything else with DECS? Should I have these DB2 fields on the original action form?

The idea of DECS is that you set up a correspondence between a Notes form and a relational table, so that when you create or update the document a corresponding relational row is automatically created or updated. So the classes you need are NotesDocument, NotesItem, and so on, to create a new Notes document.

If you only wanted to update a relational table programmatically, and not have to have a corresponding Notes document, then you don't need DECS or DCRs -- you need the LC LSX. Read the LEI Redbook for a chapter on the LC LSX.
