VSI Communications launches Mentor e-learning suite
VSI Communications Group, Inc., a content development firm in Ashburn, Va., released three e-learning tools for Lotus QuickPlace, Lotus Sametime, and Lotus TeamRoom. Mentor for Lotus QuickPlace, Mentor for Lotus Sametime, and Mentor for Lotus TeamRoom provide companies comprehensive e-learning tools for employees to master these three Lotus applications as they use them. The trio of Mentors contains dozens of browser-based multimedia demonstrations that teach users exactly what they need to know, when they need to know it. Like Lotus applications, each Mentor is Web-based, allowing team members to access the e-learning tools remotely. The Mentors include 30 just-in-time demonstrations modules for QuickPlace, as well as more than 45 multimedia demonstrations for Sametime, including one on how integrate Sametime with AOL Instant Messenger.
Trend Micro unveils Version 2.5 of ScanMail for Lotus Notes
Trend Micro, an enterprise antivirus and content security software company in Tokyo, Japan, announced ScanMail 2.5, the latest upgrade to its Lotus Notes virus protection software. Version 2.5 will significantly improve its virus scanning and cleaning, message handling and integration features. ScanMail for Lotus Notes provides antivirus support for Lotus Domino on Windows NT, AS/400 and S/390 IBM platforms, AIX and Sun Solaris platforms. To optimize server performance, ScanMail 2.5 for Lotus Notes checks mail at the router before copies are made. Modified data can be scanned within the database during the replication stage, and on-demand scanning is provided to clean any existing database infections.

IMS Internet Consulting launches a Web-based document management system
Sweden-based IT consultant company IMS Internet Consulting launched Qnova R5, a new version of its document managing system based on Domino R5 technology. The new version includes a portal that allows users to extract information through chapter structures and graphical maps to make all company information uniform and structured. All functions, including the administration system, can be reached via the Notes R5 clients or ordinary Web browsers. The ISO 9000 and ISO 14000-standard digital system is available in Swedish and English versions.
SolutionPlanet offers online and wireless time & expense report tool
SolutionPlanet, based in London, unveiled planet.TRX, its new Web-based solution for time reports and expense reports. Presented with the first beta of a WAP-client interface, planet.TRX is a platform-independent, thin-client solution that allows employees to enter data such as time and expense entries from virtually anywhere with an Internet connection. It is translatable into many languages without add-on tools or programming skills. The product can be customized by a program administrator or by an authorized consultant.
