United Messaging and RazorFish team up
United Messaging, Inc., a messaging and e-mail application service provider in West Chester, Pa., has been selected by global digital solutions provider RazorFish, New York, N.Y., to deliver a full range of consulting and managed services including the migration of its employees to an integrated and hosted Lotus Notes R5 messaging environment. United Messaging will completely manage RazorFish's transition to a single messaging platform.
New foreign language server announced
Transparent Language, Inc., Merrimack, N.H., a developer of language technology for the corporate markets, announced version 4.0 of the Enterprise Translation Server. The Enterprise Translation Server 4.0 now offers automated real-time translation in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian. The Enterprise Translation Server 4.0 enables real-time cross-language communication and commerce in 23 language directions. The product works with Microsoft Office 2000 and continues to build on previous integration with Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, Lotus Notes, Lotus Sametime and Lotus Domino applications.
MediaSolve launches new software
MediaSolv.com, a San Jose, Calif., groupware and messaging company, has launched bizOA, an e-business software suite that allows users to access and manage their business information via any wired or wireless device. bizOA's Web and WAP modules bridge the compatibility gap between platforms, devices and software by eliminating the need to import, export or sync data. With the product suite users can manage their e-mail, contacts, calendar, messages, tasks, files, expenses and bookmarks from their wireless or wired browsers. bizOA also provides instant messaging, chat, discussion boards, a virtual lobby and off-line access. The only client software required by bizOA is a browser.
Collaborative solutions partnership set
Federal Data Corporation, and Intraspect Software, Inc., Silicon Valley, Calif., have announced a partnership aimed at supplying collaborative solutions to the federal and commercial marketplace. FDC, now part of Logicon Inc., Herndon, Va., Northrop Grumman Corporation's information technology subsidiary, has nearly 30 years of proven IT System Integrator expertise, will market Intraspect's collaboration-business server. The c-business server handles all sources of unstructured information, including Microsoft Office documents, Web pages, Lotus Notes documents, web-based reports, and web interfaces to enterprise applications, and it delivers powerful search and subscription technology in an easy-to-use interface.
Research In Motion launches e-mail handheld
Research In Motion, Waterloo, Ontario, has introduced a new, advanced, palm-sized wireless handheld with integrated support for wireless e-mail, Internet, paging and organizer features. The RIM 957 Wireless Handheld is optimized for mobile users and incorporates a large high-quality screen, 32-bit Intel 386 processor, 5 MB Intel flash memory, keyboard, embedded wireless modem, integrated organizer and full support for the BlackBerry wireless e-mail solution. RIM also announced a new model of the RIM 950 Wireless Handheld with 4 MB memory in addition to the new BlackBerry 2.0 software that fully supports both the palm-sized RIM 957 and pager-sized RIM 950. RIM also announced plans for Wireless Application Protocol support on RIM Wireless Handhelds and Lotus Notes support for the BlackBerry wireless e-mail solution.Beth Quimby, news editor
