Product supports handhelds, Lotus Domino R5

Pumatech Inc., San Jose, Calif., a provider of software infrastructure for the mobile Internet has begun shipping its Intellisync Anywhere version 2.0 software for Lotus Domino R5 this month. In addition to providing corporations with remote and LAN-based synchronization between Palm OS handhelds and the Lotus Domino R5 groupware server application, Version 2.0 extends device support to Pocket PC handhelds. The software also allows for mobile notifications to pagers and SMS-capable cell phones whenever a user receives a new e-mail from pre-specified individuals or has new calendar items added. It also provides access to synchronized data remotely from any WAP-enabled phone or HTML browser.

Atakbok launches new e-mail security product

Atabok Inc., Newton, Mass., a provider of secure communications and digital rights management services has launched an e-mail plug-in security product for Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes. The new e-mail plug-in product is designed to offer security during the transmission of highly confidential business information, the company said. It adheres to Advanced Encryption Standard and integrates leading-edge digital rights management technology and is easy to use, the company saidAtabok bypasses the e-mail network, streaming content through its virtual warehouse, direct to an authenticated recipient. Both the session and the content are encrypted, lessening the opportunity for successful interception or hacking. Atabok's e-mail plug-in uses an advanced security process that layers the strong encryption (256-bit) with automatic authentication, symmetric key management, certificate authority and digital rights management.

Percussion Software wins award

Percussion Software, Stoneham, Mass., a provider of products for Lotus Domino and content management, was awarded the Gold Editors' Choice Award from Lotus Advisor Magazine for its Percussion Notrix. The product was recognized for its excellence in data integration. This is the first gold and third overall Lotus award for Notrix, which took last year's silver award. Percussion PowerFlow also was honored for the second year in a row, receiving the Silver Editors' Choice Award for Workflow. Percussion Notrix, the a comprehensive data integration tool, allows access to and from Notes and more than 50 relational sources.

Sybari Software recognized

Sybari Software Inc.'s ant-virus solution, Antigen, earned a five-star rating from SC Magazine, an information security magazine. Sybari Software, East Northport, N.Y., makes anti-virus and security software for groupware solutions. Five is the highest possible rating. SC Magazine's product reviews through its West Coast Labs are recognized as a prime source in providing functional measures on product effectiveness and performance, the company said. Antigen is a server-side application built on integrated messaging and detection technologies and is designed to help businesses protect their messaging infrastructures from e-mail viruses and malicious code.

Synergistics wins in knowledge management

Synergistics, Cincinnati, Ohio, a knowledge solutions company, was awarded the 2001 Silver Editors Choice Award by Lotus Advisor Magazine in the category of knowledge management for its Prevail Knowledge Manager. Judges selections were based on industry relevance and a company's demonstrated leadership within the knowledge management arena. Specifically designed and optimized for the Domino platform, Prevail Knowledge Manager is designed to put information in a context that is common and usable by all, the company said.
