Network Appliance runs with Lotus

Network Appliance Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., a of network-attached data access and content delivery solutions, has received "Runs with Lotus Domino" certification from Lotus and is promoted in the Global Solutions Directory, a global solutions showcase of all IBM PartnerWorld partner solutions. Network Appliance Snap technology supports data-intensive applications such as messaging and collaboration for Lotus Notes and Domino environments.

Sussex Systems launches ExtremeAdentours

Sussex Systems Inc., a developer of custom interactive Internet based business applications in Gaithersburg, Md., launched its Lotus Sametime based template, ExtremeAdventours. ExtremeAdventours is part of Sussex Systems' Internet developer's toolkit, Advanced Examples for Lotus Notes & Domino and shows Web developers how to integrate Lotus Sametime into a Domino or non-Domino based Web site.

Sybari updates security software

Sybari Software, East Northport, N.Y., developers of Antigen, an anti-virus, content-management, and e-mail security solution for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino/Notes environments, has released its Antigen 6.1 for Microsoft Exchange. Antigen 6.1 includes a new security component, Antigen Worm Purge, a tool that provides protection against worms burrowing into e-mail networks. It is now available. Antigen 6.0 for Lotus Domino Release Candidate 1 is available to customers on request and is set for release soon. Antigen costs $27.50 - $7.50 per user.

Seamless Logic develops new wireless PDA product

Seamless Logic, Research Triangle Park, N.C., is wrapping up development on a software product for wireless personal digital assistant devices called PDA Remote Administrator. The product will provide administrators of Lotus Notes and DB/2 systems remote access to simple daily functions such as: access rights, mail statistics, usage reports, and remote control of server functions, the company said. The software is scheduled alpha testing by mid-August, with a final release in November.

IT Factory CEO cited

IT Factory's president and chief executive officer, Lars Johansen, has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in New England. Selected from more than several hundred entrants, Johansen was cited for his entrepreneurial vision, company performance and commitment to his community. IT Factory, Boston, Mass., creates applications for the Lotus Notes/Domino platform.

Veritas creates new version

Veritas Software Corp., Mountain View, Calif., has created a new version of its data protection product for online applications from Lotus and Microsoft. The company has updated Veritas Backup Exec for Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000. The new version 8.6 adds backup and recovery functions for new online and database applications running in Windows NT and Windows 2000 business environments, and includes new tools designed to improve the performance and management capabilities of backup operations, the company said. Prices range from $795 to $1,195.
