TLCC adds ND6 Lotuscript course
The Learning Continuum Company (TLCC) in Boca Raton, Fla., has introduced a new course for developers working with ND6. Beginning LotusScript for Notes Domino 6 teaches the basics of the programming language and the Domino object model. It's designed for those new to LotusScript, as well as experienced coders looking to learn the Domino Object Interface.
Students will learn by writing real code, at their own pace and their own place. The distance-learning course is being offered at an introductory price of $399.
ReCor adds Notes 6 training
Evanston, Ill.-headquartered ReCor Corp. has released its LearningDocs training series for Lotus Notes 6. It includes five courses: Moving from Notes 4.5/4.6 to 6, Moving from Notes 5 to Notes 6, Lotus Notes 6 - Standard, Lotus Notes 6 - Advanced and iNotes Web Access - Notes 6. Administrators can set up the training directly on the Domino 6 server and track the progress of each user in the course. The series features built-in skills assessments and lets users communicate with peers and help desk staff to enable multiple layers of support.
Notes gets a new Mentor
Mentor Communications Inc., in Norwalk, Conn., has released a new version of Mentor for Lotus Notes, an interactive learning offering using multimedia presentations and demonstrations. The training solution is accessible through Notes or a Web browser and allows users to toggle between Notes and the course. It claims to eliminate between 20% and 40% of help desk calls. Many Notes professionals are already familiar with Mentors for Notes R5, Sametime, and QuickPlace.
New company offers Notes-based office automation software
A new company has formed to sell and support office automation software for the Notes platform. The first product from Associated Software Developer's Team Inc., in Vancouver, Wash., is X-Pert Office. It's a Notes application that offers prospect and lead management, activity management, contact management, and relationship management, among other features. The application is available for online demonstration and the company is offering a working copy for potential users to check out.
AppDetective supports Domino 6
Application Security Inc., in New York, has upgraded AppDetective for Domino to support ND6. AppDetective is a network-based penetration testing and vulnerability scanner that assesses the security strength of Domino servers. It locates, examines, reports on and helps fix security holes and misconfigurations.
