Early Friday, IBM Lotus released the second beta edition of Lotus Notes and Domino 7. The software is available for download on IBM's developerWorks Web site.
Topping the list of Domino server highlights is improved integration with IBM's DB2 database, which can be utilized as a back-end data store for Domino data. For those interested in evaluating the DB2 integration aspects of the release, IBM is offering a download of DB2 8.1.6 that Domino shops may use for the duration of the beta program.
Other ND7 Beta 2 features include antispam enhancements and whitelist support, a single user interface that consolidates and prioritizes events across multiple servers, new @Functions and Domino Object methods and properties and Web services hosting with Java and LotusScript.
A full list of features is also available via the developerWorks Web site.
