Check If A Server Is Alive (V2.X - V5.X)

Here is a simple way to check if another server is actually working if all you
have is a remote console window (or the server itself). From the server console
enter:
LOAD STATS servername
(for some reason you do not have to enter the full hierarchial server name,
just the common name part). If the other server is alive (it must be normally
reachable from the testing server), you will see the normal 'sh stats' screen.
If it is unavailable, you will be informed. This is also useful for checking
what is happening to a server in another part of the company (ie abroad)!
