Easier Way To Force A User To Use The "Save & Close" Button

On a recent project I needed to force the user to use the save and close
button. Circumstances prevented using some of the well known techniques. I was
working in both Front End and Back End Classes so setting a field value to
track the exit status was particularly troublesome.
The solution is to set a Public variable in the GLOBALS of the document.

Public ExitStatus as Variant

Now, you can change the value of this variable from anywhere on your form, from
any script or button.

Be sure to do the following:

1. Save the value of ExitStatus to a field in the QuerySave event.

2. Set the ExitStatus variable from the field during the PostOpen event.

If you do that you should have no problem. Of course this only works with
script.
