Easy method for converting legacy date values to Notes Date fields

This tip describes a method for converting legacy date values to Notes Date fields.

In applications that use LEI to pull data from legacy system, date values come over as numeric values (20021006). To convert to a Notes date field, I simply add a computed date field to the form using the following value (where PHSDAT is the numeric field):

 t1 := @Left(@Text(PHSDAT);4); t2 := @Right(@Left(@Text(PHSDAT);6);2); t3 := @Right(@Text(PHSDAT);2); @TextToTime(t2 +"/"+t3 +"/"+t1)
