Form Formula -- Domino Security Misconception

The "FORM FORMULA" feature is being misused to implement Domino security on Web to show the documents using multiple forms.

When a user tries to read or edit a document from a view, form formula associated with that view determines Domino will use which form in presenting the document to the user. This formula is part of the view design element. For example, the following is a form formula that will display a document opened from a browser to display an "Access Denied" error:

@If(!@IsNewDoc ; "DenyForm" ; "orderform")

Once the document is opened, the Domino URL might look like this:

There are three possible Domino URLs to represent the same document URL:

1. http://hostname/database.nsf/viewname/UNID?action
2. http://hostname/database.nsf/viewID/UNID?action
3. http://hostname/database.nsf/xyz/UNID?action
(Here 'xyz' is an arbitrary name - There is no view with name as 'xyz' in the database)

Note: Any text string may be used to replace the 32-character view ID in a Domino document URL.

So, the FORM FORMULA feature is not a Domino security feature but it gives an extended functionality to manage domino apps.
