Images In Computed Rtf Field

RTF can be set to "computed". So, if you put in document all info about
"source" of RTF field value, you can obtain images or text into document from
outside documents.
So, here we go:
1. We need a DB, where we'll store our images (in RTF fields of document) - let
it be "archive DB"
2. In target document we'll define "reference fields", which are to identify
"archive document", containing desired image. (for instance, some key value for
key view)
3. In target document we'll define RTF computed field with a formula like

lookup:=@DbLookup("":"NoCache"; &LTArchive DB file> &LTKey view>&LTSource document
Key> &LTRTF field, containing desired image>);

4. On QueryClose for target document we'll put

Sub Queryclose(Source As Notesuidocument, Continue As Variant)
Dim doc as NotesDocument

set doc = Source.Document
If (doc.HasItem(&LTcomputed RTF field>) ) Then
Call doc.RemoveItem(&LTcomputed RTF field>)
Call doc.Save(True, True)
End If
End Sub

That's all. Image (or whatever is stored in archive document) will appear in
target document.

1. Same bulk image can be re-used by many application without disk space loss
2. Source image update will be preformed automatically - every time you open
target document, you'll get current image

Hope, it will help
