Stylish decorations for views using JavaScript

This tip helps you convert views to attractive reports using the table object's frame property.

This code helps generate stylish reports for Web apps. Using the table object's frame property, views can be converted to elegant reports. Even converting a view into a table is easier with this one. Just put this function in the JS Header and call it on OnLoad function.

function createTable()
{
  var tableElements = document.
getElementsByTagName('table') ;
  var table = tableElements[tableElements.length - 1] ;
  table.width = '100%' ;
  table.cellSpacing = '0' ;
  table.frame='box';
}
There are various options to use with the frame property:
table.frame='hsides';
table.frame='vsides';
table.frame='above';
table.frame='below';
To create a full grid, use table.frame='box';
