Updating Private on First Use Views

This drove me nuts for a long time. One of our largest Domino applications heavily relies on Private on first use views. The problem is that when you make design changes, the users have to delete their local view in order to pickup the design changes. I put this code on each of the private views. It simply deletes the private view, and prevents the user from causing any harm in case they have access to do so (I did it once by accident before I put the error checking in, oops:-)

Sub Click(Source As Button)

Dim session As New NotesSession
Dim db As NotesDatabase
Dim view As NotesView
Dim boxType As Long, resp As Integer
Set db = session.CurrentDatabase
Set view = db.GetView( "My Time" )

' make sure they are deleting the personal view, not actual design element
' Then remove the view
If Not(Isempty(view.Readers)) Then
Call view.Remove
Msgbox "The My Time view has been updated. You must close and re-open the database before you will see the changes"
Else
Messagebox "Your view is up to date or has already been removed. Please exit the database and re-open to see the changes."
End If

End Sub
